Tom's December Publicity

06/11/2017
Fordingbridge is now bustling with Christmas shoppers and aglow with Christmas lights. I can only wish a bright star would appear over Westminster. We could use a few more wise men up there!

We should have written our letters to Santa by now; mine is very short this year. “Dear Santa, I would like a new Birthday Suit this year. My current one is old and wrinkled.” We are a friendly, go-ahead club and meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on most Wednesdays.
Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk contains our programme of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work on top quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. In addition to our regular meetings, we devote many evenings to those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular and have added strength to our work. Visitors are always welcome to all our meetings for a small charge.
Our 31st January meeting features a talk - Natural History Photography - by Pete Wheldon ARPS.

The approach of Christmas brings out again all the old Christmas cracker jokes like: Q) Do you ever wake up grumpy? A) Sometimes, but other times I let him sleep! All the old Christmas songs and carols are still being heard on radio and television but some may need updating. I think some new words should be introduced into the song Santa Clause is coming to Town – “He knows when you’re awake. He knows what you look like. He knows what you’ve been doing all year round.” Sounds like Santa uses Facebook. Another one could be – “All I want for Christmas is you, (And presents. I really like presents.)”
