The Fordingbridge Challenge

A Challenge was issued to 10 Camera Clubs in Dorset and Hants to present 8 entries for a Projected Image Competition to be held at the Fordingbridge Town Hall in January 2009. Seven other clubs accepted the Challenge which was judged by Dr Barry Senior FRPS, the current President of the Royal Photographic Society.

It is hoped that this will become an annual event and we were delighted, though slightly embarrassed, that Fordingbridge took first place in this the inaugural year. Second place was jointly held by Bournemouth Photographic Society and Wareham Camera Club. The Certificate for the Best Individual Image was won by Anne Mahany ARPS CPAGB of Fordingbridge CC with "Dawn Tide" and the runner -up was Tristram Reed of North Hants Photographic Society with "The Power of Mt Blanc"

WOW!
Spring 2008, some 88 Clubs competed for the inaugural National Digital Imaging Competition
known as The Great British Cup (Large Club Section)
Fordingbridge Camera Club was pleased to be placed joint 44th against this
level of competiton from the whole country

Well Done Fordingbridge!
At the Southern Photographic Federation's bi-annual Print Championship on February 24 2008
we came 3rd in Round One which placed us among the top eight clubs and eligible to compete
for the Championship. In the final round we again finished third only beaten by the mighty
Chichester and Southampton Camera Clubs so we are feeling pretty pleased with ourselves.

Something for Everyone? A Successful Evening!
At a recent "Trouble-Shooting" evening there really was something for everyone, prints were analysed,
cameras examined, computer imaging techniques discussed and our own monitor profiler was demonstrated.

Lottery Win! December 2005
We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in our "Awards for All" application and
will be able to equip with a new digital projector and move forward into a new era of photography.

Outstanding Digital Day! November 2005

Once again our "Digital Day" presentation at Sandy Balls Holiday Centre has been well received largely thanks to this year's guest speaker Tony Riley LIBPP who explained the secrets of Colour Management and how to get the best from Raw Files. Nearly 100 guests from all over the south and west enjoyed the day and they went home super-saturated with knowledge.

Can You see in Colour?

Yes, really see? A lot of us, particularly men, have some degree of colour blindness
(Who said "especially judges"?). If you want to get checked out discretely -
go to http://www.toledo-bend.com/colorblind/Ishihara.html
- you might be surprised!
