Getting close to our restart!

Tom's September Publicity

24/08/2019
My wife thinks it’s time for new winter clothes so she will have something to wear when she goes out shopping to for spring outfits. She has only two complaints: nothing to wear and not enough wardrobe space. But, as she says, “Money isn’t everything. There’s also MasterCard and Visa”.

Autumn also sees the start of a new season for the Fordingbridge Camera Club on 11th September 2019. Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk lists the planned talks by visiting top photographers: “Urban Photography After Dark” by Richard Sercombe on 2nd October. 23rd of October is devoted to Leo Rich ARPS DPAGB HonPAGE HonEFIAP/g. His talk is entitled “The Idle Rich-Sliding into Digital and Rambles”. A little later in the year Slawek Stazscuk’s talk will be “Perfect Exposures – Landscapes”. Some of our own club members will cover areas of their own expertise in the coming season and include Creative work: “Preparation of Images for Competition and Entering International Exhibitions”, “Getting Off Auto” and “Photo –editing Hints and Tips”. Visitors are always welcome to meetings, entry £5. These Creative sessions have proven to be very popular and have added strength to our work. Members have the opportunity to show their work on top quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. Don’t feel you have to put your camera away at the end of summer; a rain swept landscape can be more dramatic than the same view taken on a fine day.

If you have time until 11th September perhaps you could ponder on wise words of the past: “Never get stuck behind the Devil in a Post Office queue, for the Devil can take many forms”, “Follow your dreams, except for the one where you are naked at work”, or even, “Selling sea shells by the sea shore”- easier done than said.
