Spring cometh.........................

Tom's March publicity

15/02/2020
Winter must be over soon as the clocks go forward on Sunday 29th March; Mothering Sunday falls on 22nd March. Easter Sunday is very early this year, 12th April. By the way, if your 2020 diary shows Monday May 4th as a Bank Holiday this is incorrect. This has now been changed to Friday 8th to celebrate VE Day - but after all diaries and calendars have been printed for 2020.

Spring cleaning is underway in our household. I have found that everything not needed, or have lost, has been thrown out when needed.. The easiest way to find something lost, however, is to buy a replacement.

Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk contains our programme of talks by visiting top photographers and experienced club members. These are coupled with opportunities to show your work on top quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. In addition to our regular meetings, we devote many evenings to those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular and have added strength to our work. We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm most Wednesdays. Visitors are always welcome to all our meetings for a small charge. 18th March is devoted to an illustrated talk entitled ‘Wildlife Photography’ by professional David Boag. David’s website, naturalfocus.co.uk shows his wide range of photography. 8th of April will be devoted to Studio Portraiture by two club members, Kevin and Julie.

A final though or two: Laughter is the best medicine. Unless you’re really sick, then you should ring the emergency services. I have discovered that the best photos I would have taken are generally through the lens cap.
