Tom's October Publicity

What a wonderful organisation the NHS is! I rang the surgery to ask for a doctor’s appointment and was asked, “Which doctor?”. I was so impressed that they not only offered the service of a Witch Doctor but that they even knew I was looking for Voodoo treatment - even before I mentioned it.

Another wonderful organisation is the Fordingbridge Camera Club. We are a friendly, go-ahead club meeting at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on alternate Wednesdays and our season re-started on 11th of September.
Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk has the programme for the new season. It contains a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers.
Our talk on 25th September - entitled “Photography My Way” - is by Peter Paterson FRPS EFIAP, a famous Landscape and Still Life photographer.
The programme also includes the opportunity to show your work and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges who incorporate helpful comments and guidance.
In addition to our regular meetings, we are devoting many evenings to Practical Photography, a group to help members who are new-comers to photography. These sessions have proven to be very popular but are only open to club members. Visitors are welcome to all other events for a small fee.

Another event, the Edinburgh Fringe, always produces a good crop of one-liner jokes. Last year it included, “I‘m good friends with 25 letters of the alphabet....I don’t know why”. The joke that was voted the best this year was “I heard a rumour that Cadbury is bringing out an oriental chocolate bar. It could be a Chinese Wispa”. When I told my wife the joke this morning – no response - not even a Snicker.
