They say that a dog is man’s best friend, but is it really true? How many of your friends have you had neutered? However, the good news is that summer is here; the bad news is that Fordingbridge Camera Club Year is almost at an end. Where we will be with Brexit after April next year nobody knows! But now is the ideal time to take your camera out and capture some wonderful photographs. We should record these images now as memories and to show to our friends.
And where better to show the results of your summer than at the Fordingbridge Camera Club? We re-start in September, which will give you plenty of time to take those earth-shattering images you know you are capable of producing! We are a friendly, go-ahead club and meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesdays. Our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk , has our programme for the season. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers. It also provides opportunities to show your work on the highest quality equipment and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. In addition to our regular meetings we are devoting many evenings for those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular and have added strength to our work. The club programme shows all the planned meeting days. Visitors are welcome to any item on the programme for a small fee.
We will be at many of the local country shows throughout the summer; St Mary’s Church Festival and Ellingham Show. You can see samples of our work there and have the opportunity to tell us what you want from a camera club.
I will end with a cautionary thought. Don’t drink and drive. You may have a bump and spill your drink!
