“June is bustin’ out all over, All over the medder’ and the hill” - and our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk has our programme and a whole range of work of our members. The club season is coming to an end but will re-start again in September 2019. Summer time is the ideal opportunity for photography and going camping but I feel that campers are nature’s way of feeding mosquitoes. What I want to know is – How is it that one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire? Perhaps it is better to forget thoughts of camping and stick to photography.
We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm most Wednesdays of the season. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. Visitors are always welcome for a small fee. In addition to our regular meetings we are devoting many evenings for those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular and are open to visitors for a small fee. With all the local country shows and steam fairs etc. there is so much to see and photograph in the summer months.
We will have a stand at the Ellingham Show on Saturday 10 August, come and meet us there. You will see a display of a selection of our photographs but, more importantly, give you a chance to discuss you own photography problems with us to see if we can help you.
Everyone has a photographic memory - some just don’t have any film or pixels left. I know because I’ve seen it all, done it all, can’t remember most of it.
But my wife has the worst memory – she never forgets anything!
