Some more worldly wise words from Tom.

Tom's June Publicity

30/05/2019
Having recently spent time on completing my tax return I have come to the conclusion that making out your own income tax return is like a do-it-yourself mugging. I have always tried paying my income tax with a smile, but they always want a cheque.

The good news, however, is that the Fordingbridge Camera Club will re-start again in September 2019 and our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk will have our new programme. We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm most Wednesdays of the season. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. Visitors are always welcome for a small fee. In addition to our regular meetings we are devoting many evenings for those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular and are open to visitors. With all the local country shows and steam fairs etc. there is so much to see and photograph in the summer months. We will have a stand at the Ellingham Show on Saturday 10 August, come and meet us there. Summer can be an ideal time for photography in English gardens, but beware of fierce summer heat; the light can be too intense, so shoot gardens in early morning or late afternoons, or on cloudy days.

Whilst tax returns and money is still on my mind – remember the old saying – “Money isn’t everything. There is also Visa and Mastercard.”
Also worth remembering as the years pass is that old age is when you have too much room in your house, but not enough room in your medicine cupboard.
