Another of Tom's efforts to keep the whole of the county thinking about nothing else other than FCC.

Tom's July Publicity

21/06/2019
The holiday season is now in full swing. I just fished out my passport and thought as I looked at my photo, “You’re almost certainly not well enough to travel!” I’m young at heart, but considerably older in other places.

The Fordingbridge Camera Club has broken up for the season but our members will, no doubt, look at people at local shows and exhibitions. It does not matter what’s on show. Concentrate on the visitors and watch how their faces react to the exhibits. You will have the quizzical and the intense, the admiring and the dismissive. And look even harder and the chances are you will find that telling juxtaposition that turns a snap into a picture. The good news is that Club will re-start again in September 2019 and our website, www.fordingbridgecameraclub.org.uk will have our new programme. We meet at Avonway Community Centre at 7.30pm most Wednesdays of the season. It is a mixture of talks by visiting top photographers coupled with opportunities to show your work on top class facilities and have it commented on by experienced photographic judges. Visitors are always welcome for a small fee. In addition to our regular meetings we are devoting many evenings for those who want, as a group, to set themselves new challenges and then to review the results collectively. These additional sessions have proven to be very popular and are open to visitors.
With all the local country shows and steam fairs etc. there is so much to see and photograph in the summer months. We will have a stand at the Ellingham Show on Saturday 10 August, come and meet us there.

If you are thinking of travelling to far off strange places where the English language is rare, why not try beautiful Yorkshire? If someone wants to say: “It isn’t in the tin.” It is pronounced, “Tintintin.”
